Arts Huron Students set to graduate in 2010, 2011, 2012
The move in the fall of 2009 to four school designated arts school programs has created a unique situation for students currently enrolled in the Arts program here at Huron Heights.
Since Arts Huron is now in the process of changing its current program model, students find themselves in a unique situation.
After much consultation amongst staff and students, it has been decided that students who entered Arts Huron under the “Application + Reference Model” will continue to have the Arts Program delivered to them as it has been over the past decade. As a result, there will in effect be two Arts Huron Programs running simultaneously until the final Arts Huron Certificates are awarded in June 2012.
To avoid confusion, students in this program model as of fall 2009 will be identified as Arts Huron AHC Program (AHC=“Arts Huron Certification Program”) Under this model, students must successfully complete seven arts credits to receive the Arts Huron Certificate of Arts Specialization. As before, the student must achieve a minimum mark of 70% in each art course used for certification.
Students in the Arts Huron AHC Program must be members in good standing who have paid their annual fee and have attended the enhanced programming opportunities made available to them through the program.* Fees for Arts Huron AHC Program will be as follows:
2009-2010: $40.00
2010-2011: $50.00
2011-2012: $60.00
Arts Huron AHC Program students will have access to the same artists and training opportunities as members of the by audition program.
*As always, students who opt out of the Arts Huron AHC Program (that is, do not pay their fees to maintain their “member in good standing” status) in any given year cannot use any arts courses taken in that year towards their certificate. The Arts Huron Certificate is awarded to students who have had “Enhanced Arts Programming”—something that students would not have received if they opted out of the program.
